Activities
Through the support of the principal, teachers, and parent volunteers along with donations from Unionville families and from the community, Unionville PTO is proud to be able to sponsor many programs and events:
Special Events
PTO Open House – This is a chance for parents to meet their child’s teachers and tour the school. This event is usually held each September.
Chili Supper and Craft Fair – A community event and fundraiser held each November
Spring Carnival – Join us in May for lots of fun on the cake walk, playing midway-style games, bidding on an auction item, and dinner in the cafeteria. One of our most successful fundraisers and truly the highlight of the year!
Sixth grade graduation – A ceremony the last evening of the school year commemorating seven years at Unionville Elementary.
Field Day – Held on the last day of school, this is a chance for all students to have fun and celebrate another year of hard work and learning!
Ongoing Events
Teacher appreciation days – This is a chance for PTO members and volunteers to do something special to show our appreciation to the school staff. Activities are held throughout the year. Examples include lunches held during Parent-Teacher Conferences in November and a special luncheon the day before Winter Break. Different chairs are utilized throughout the year.
Skate night – Held at Western Skateland, this fundraising event occurs the second Thursday of every month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is only $4.00 and includes skate rental. The chair of this event is Lisa Davis.
Programs
Student directory – A members-only guide to the students at Unionville Elementary published in October. Mary McInerney., Chair.
Scrip program

The Unionville PTO enrollment code is: 11FL3B785377. Scrip orders are due every other Friday. The scrip order will be available the following Friday. Scrip chair is Emily Stone.

Spring plant sale – A fundraiser supporting the Hoosier Hills Career Center Greenhouse Management Program. The chair of this program is open.
PTO Babysitting - Coordinating babysitters for various PTO activities, such as meetings and Market Day pickup. The chair of this program is Sidney Ludwig
Volunteer
opportunities
Parents make a difference! Research has shown that the more
involved you are
as a parent in your child’s education, the higher the student’s
academic
performance. If you are interested in volunteering, we have
opportunities for
you to help! We have short and long term projects during
both the day and evenings! You can commit to as little
or as much as you want. Please contact Lisa Davis if you are interested
in
volunteering. WE APPRECIATE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
