BizTown is sponsored by Junior Achievement and is the culminating experience of an economics project that takes place in Indianapolis. College Kids WorkshopThe IU Office of Community and School Partnerships is offering a program called “College Kids” Fall Workshop for 4th-6th grade students. The students visit the IU campus for one day to attend educational workshops and begin gathering information about college. They will interact with college students, discover resources and get a sample of college life. The program is free and will be held on October 17 from 9:00am-4:00pm. Applications can be picked up in the school office. Registration deadline is Oct. 5. We appreciate Kim and our other officers for serving our school in these capacities.Used Playground EquipmentOur school will gladly accept any used playground equipment items that are taking up closet space at home. Donated footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, etc. will be made available to students for recreation during their recesses. If you have any of these items that are no longer being used, send them to school and they will be put to use. Music ProgramsMrs. Ellsworth, our music teacher, has scheduled the music programs for the 2009-10 school year. Grades 3 and 4 will be presenting Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Grades K, 1 and 2 will be performing “Seussical Junior” on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Grades 5 and 6 will present “It’s a Musical World” on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
